Subject Matter Expert: Laurence J. Shapiro, P.E.
Laurence J. Shapiro, P.E., is a Mechanical Engineer with over 35 years of experience in all aspects of power generation and energy use ranging from Nuclear Power to coal, oil and gas fired utility and industrial facilities. During his career, he spent over 15 years in the Corporate Engineering Division of a major pharmaceutical company, responsible for energy projects around the world. He has been a college professor teaching "Economic Evaluation of Complex Energy Systems" at the graduate level and is a published author on the economics of cogeneration. He has also been a featured presenter at regional energy conferences.
