Subject Matter Expert: Peter Basis, P.E.

 

Peter Basis, P.E., holds both a Masters Degree and a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering from City College of the City University of New York. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in the states of New York and New Jersey.

Mr. Basis has extensive experience in the design and consultative review of lighting, electrical, and power distribution systems for major construction projects within public, private, and academic environments. Areas of expertise include Designs & Drawings, Specifications and Estimates. He currently is employed as an Electrical Engineer responsible for design work, drawings, specifications and estimates for various projects that include both the renovation of existing and the design of new electrical systems; power distribution; lighting; and fire alarm installations.

Previously, Mr. Basis served as an Assistant Professor in the Electrical Engineering Technology Department at the State University of New York at Farmingdale, where he developed curricula and technical manuals and taught courses in Circuit Theory, Electronics, Communications, Digital Theory, and Instrumentation to Technology students. He was also involved with the 100kW Photovoltaic Project.
