Overview

Networking our computers has become a necessity for professionals in the design and construction fields... even in the smallest of offices.

This 2-hour online course introduces you to today's most commonly used networking technologies. It will help you to become familiar with networking lingo so that you can speak the same language as your favorite IT person, familiarize you with the details of technology that you already use, or get you started down the path of installing your own small network.

The content is geared for design professionals, but is understandable and usable by anyone.

After completing this course, you will:

  • Have a basic understanding of the protocols, connections, and hardware in a typical Ethernet network
  • Be familiar with peer-to-peer networking, servers, internet connections, and some of the factors that affect network performance

The student must take a multiple-choice quiz consisting of fourteen (14) questions at the end of the course to obtain PDH credits.
