Basic Operational Amplifier Design
Carmelo
P. Carbonara, MSEP, P.E.
Overview
This is
an engineering level course on the circuit design of single stage, voltage
feedback operational amplifier circuits. It shows how to easily
characterize the input and output characteristics using basic network analysis
methods. Several generic circuit types are presented.
The
course is written for professional electrical engineers. The
student must take a multiple-choice quiz consisting of sixteen (16) questions at the
end of this course to obtain 4 PDH credits.
Specific Knowledge or Skill Attained
This course teaches the
following specific knowledge and skills:
-
Concise methods for
getting the transfer function from the loop equations
-
Determine the gain
and phase relations from the transfer function
-
Determine the input
impedances
-
Practical tips for
offsetting, stabilizing and prototyping working circuits
