Overview
This course will provide the student with a general introduction to various types of particle accelerators, their construction, and their practical uses. This course is useful for anyone that may be involved with electrical, civil, or other type subprojects for particle accelerator laboratory construction, renovation, or maintenance projects, as well as engineers who work with low energy particle accelerators, such as cathode ray tubes and X-ray generators, who are interested in learning the fundamentals of high energy accelerators. This course is a general introduction and does not delve deeply into physics equations or mathematics.
The student must take a multiple-choice quiz consisting of twelve (12) questions at the end of this course to obtain PDH credits.
