Overview
Cremation is being used more and more in the United States. A crematory is essentially a pathological incinerator, and its characteristics, including air emission, are presented in this course.
As cremation becomes more popular an understanding of the unique features of this technology and its application is of greater interest. The nature of the charge (the human body) and issues associated with its firing and combustion should be understood.
To earn PDH credits for this course, the student must pass a multiple choice quiz of twenty(20) questions.
Specific Knowledge or Skill Obtained
This course teaches the following specific knowledge and skills:
- Be familiar with the unique issues associated with cremation
- Have an understanding of the requirements and features of crematories
- Be able to determine crematory dimensions
- Be aware of emissions from crematories
- Have a knowledge of crematory troubleshooting
