Overview
Sludges are non-Newtonian liquids with relatively high solids content. The particle size of the solids in a sludge are very small compared to those in what is defined as a slurry, which is basically a liquid (usually water) containing solids of large particle size. This course describes the two most common furnaces used for sludge incineration: the Multiple-Hearth furnace and the Fluid Bed furnace.
The student must take a multiple-choice quiz consisting of thirty (30) questions at the end of the course to obtain PDH credits.
