Overview
The Georgia General Assembly created the Georgia State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors in 1937 with the charge of protecting life, health, and property and to promote the public welfare. The Board has the power to adopt rules, set standards for licensure, adopt mandatory standards of professional conduct and ethics, and investigate and discipline unauthorized, negligent, unethical or incompetent practice. They review applications, administer examinations, license qualified applicants, and regulate the professional practice of licensees throughout the state.
In this course we will review the laws and rules that govern the profession of engineering for Georgia-licensed engineers. The board has also mandated the Rules of Professional Conduct, an ethics primer for Georgia’s PEs. These Rules offer a valuable insight into how the practice of engineering is best managed in an ethical and aboveboard fashion.
This two-hour course is a valuable refresher for Georgia engineers and provides knowledge that is used in the day-to-day activity of a licensed professional engineer.
