Overview
In this course the student
will study excerpts from Article 145 of the New York Education Law, Part 68 of
the Regulations of the Commissioner, and Part 29 of the Rules of the Board of
Regents on unprofessional conduct. The student will also review some of the
recent disciplinary actions taken by the New York Regents to enforce these laws,
rules, and regulations.
The student must take a multiple-choice quiz consisting of fifteen (15) questions at
the end of this course to earn PDH credits.
Specific Knowledge or Skill Attained
This course teaches the following specific knowledge and
skills:

The engineer’s duty to protect the public.

The engineer’s duty to make objective and truthful statements.
-
The engineer’s duty to limit practice to his or her field of competence
-
The engineer’s duty to maintain client confidentiality.
-
The engineer’s responsibility to the profession.
-
Knowledge of how the Regents administer and enforce the New York Engineering
laws, rules, and regulations.
