Compressed Air System Design, Operating and Maintenance Tips

Course No. M-2043

Back to Mechanical Courses

Credit:  2 PDH
Course Fee:  $57.90

Steven G. Liescheidt, P.E., CSI-CCS, CCPR.

Overview

A large amount of energy can be lost in compressed air systems that are not properly designed, operated and maintained.  Fortunately, there are many opportunities available for the engineer to minimize compressed air energy losses - even in systems that are already operational.

In this course, the student will review review (14) "Compressed Air Tip Sheets"  published by the U.S. Dept. of Energy's Office of Industrial Technologies.  Each tip sheet provides information on a particular component of a  compressed air system that can be optimized to improve the overall efficiency of the system.  This course is relevant to engineers who design or maintain compressed air systems, as well as engineers interested in learning more about improving the efficiency of a compressed air system.

The student is expected to read and review the material contained in the Energy Tip Sheets noted above.

The student must take a multiple-choice quiz consisting of twenty-four (24) questions at the end of this course to obtain PDH credits.
