Fabric Filter Bag Leak Detection
Steven G. Liescheidt, P.E., CSI-CCS, CCPR.
Overview
Fabric filters are used in many applications in both the commercial and
industrial sectors. Efficient operation of a fabric filter system depends
heavily on proper maintenance and monitoring of the fabric filters.
In
this course the student will learn about the use of triboelectric monitors as
fabric filter bag leak detectors. This course includes fabric filter and
monitoring system descriptions; guidance on monitor selection, installation, set
up, adjustment, and operation; and quality assurance procedures.
The
student is expected to read and review the material contained in the Fabric
Filter Bag Leak Detection Guidance, Office of Air Quality Planning And
Standards, EPA-454/R-98-015 – September 1997.
The student must take a multiple-choice quiz consisting of fifteen (15) questions
at the end of this course to obtain PDH credits.
