Fans for Livestock Buildings

Overview
Large facilities that are used for housing
livestock have a wide range of ventilation needs depending on weather conditions
and number of livestock in the space. The principles of ventilating these
spaces can be applied to other applications. The principle of stepped
ventilation using several different-sized fans is explained and compared with
control schemes using two-speed, multispeed or variable-speed fans. This plan
also discusses other important considerations in choosing fans and controls for
ventilating modern livestock and poultry buildings.
The
student is expected to read and review the material contained in the Selecting
Fans For Livestock Buildings – Plan M-9705.
The student must take a
multiple-choice quiz consisting of ten (10) questions at the end of
this course to obtain PDH credits.
