Hot Water Floor and Space Heating Fundamentals
Steven G. Liescheidt, P.E., CSI-CCS, CCPR.
Overview
Hot
water floor and space heating systems are often more expensive to install than
other types of systems for small buildings. But, hot water systems usually
have lower capital costs for larger facilities with multiple heating zones.
In this course the student will learn some of the basics of hot water heating
systems, including boiler types, heating controls, heating terminal units, hot
water heating system design considerations, applications, and maintenance
considerations of hot water heating systems.
The student is expected to read and review the material contained in the Hot
Water Heating, Canada Plan Service, M-9735. Although the document is
written primarily around agricultural buildings, the basic concepts of hot water
heating systems apply universally.
The student must take a multiple-choice quiz consisting of ten (10) questions
at the end of this course to obtain PDH credits.
