HVAC System Analysis and Selection

Overview
HVAC systems are a vital part
of a building and provide environmental control for the occupants and equipment
installed in the building. An HVAC system maintains the desired environmental
conditions in a space when properly analyzed and selected. HVAC systems are
categorized by the method used to control heating, ventilating and air
conditioning in the conditioned space.
In this course, the student
will learn about criteria and goals related to HVAC systems analysis and
selection. In addition the student will learn about system types, equipment,
space requirements, air distribution, piping and system management.
The student is expected to
read and review the material contained in ASHRAE Handbook – 2004 HVAC Systems
and Equipment, Chapter 1: HVAC System Analysis and Selection.
Note that the 2004 ASHRAE HVAC Systems And
Equipment Handbook is not provided as part of the purchase
price for this course. It must be obtained separately by the student.
