Overview
This four-hour course is an overview of several promising technologies that may help the United States to reduce greenhouse gases and to improve the efficient use of energy in the country.
The course reviews several specific technologies, how they work, and the status of development of the technology, including commercialization status.
The student must take a multiple-choice quiz consisting of twenty-six (26) questions at the end of the course to obtain PDH credits.
Specific Knowledge or Skill Attained
This course teaches the following specific knowledge and
skills:
- The current status of Biomass fuel
production
- How hydrogen may become a new energy
carrier
- The status of fuel cells for power
systems
- How hydro electric systems may be revitalized for energy
production
- The types of solar power systems in use
today
