Room Air Distribution

Course No. M-2009 Back to HVAC Courses
Credit: 2 PDH
Course Fee: $57.90

Steven G. Liescheidt, P.E., CSI-CCS, CCPR

Overview

In today’s building industry there is more and more focus on occupant comfort, indoor air quality, ventilation effectiveness, energy use and many other factors related to air flow in a space. In addition, the LEEDS program provides an incentive to have good ventilation effectiveness in a building. The ASHRAE Standard 62 has requirements for the air devices to be selected such that the ADPI is at a level to ensure good distribution of the outside air through the ventilation system. All of these factors make it imperative for the HVAC design engineer to know how to properly select room air distribution equipment.

In this course the student will learn some of the basic room air distribution equipment considerations in the building industry that relate to the supply air outlets, air distribution units and air curtains.

The student is expected to read and review the material contained in the 2004 ASHRAE HVAC Systems And Equipment Handbook, Chapter 17 – Room Air Distribution Equipment. Note that the 2004 ASHRAE HVAC Systems And Equipment Handbook is not provided as part of the purchase price for this course. It must be obtained separately by the student. If necessary, this document can be purchased through ASHRAE's online bookstore at

http://resourcecenter.ashrae.org/store/ashrae/ or by contacting ASHRAE at:

Phone: 404-636-8400 Address: 1791 Tullie Circle, N.E., Atlanta, GA 30329

The student must take a multiple-choice quiz consisting of twenty (20) questions at the end of this course to obtain PDH credits.
