Smoke Movement

Overview
Smoke and fire gases, inherent in all unwanted
fires, are dangerous products of combustion that have critical influences on
life safety, property protection and fire suppression practices in buildings.
In this course the student will learn some of the
basic principles of smoke movement and management in buildings. The source
document for the course discusses a variety of factors that affect smoke
movement and smoke management in buildings.
The student is expected to read and review the
material contained in Smoke Movement In Buildings,
Fire Protection Handbook, 18th
Edition, NFPA FPH1897, Section 7, Chapter 6.
The
student must take a multiple-choice quiz consisting of ten (10) questions at the end of
this course to obtain PDH credits.
