Sound Attenuators - AeroSonics Products and Applications

Course No. M-2029 Back to HVAC Courses
Credit: 2 PDH
Course Fee: $57.90

Steven G. Liescheidt, P.E., CSI-CCS, CCPR

Overview

Sound attenuators (silencers) are used in HVAC systems to help absorb noise that is generated by fans or other air moving equipment. Attenuators can also be used to prevent cross-over noise between rooms, such as conference rooms or toilet rooms. Manufacturers of attenuators such as AeroSonics offer a variety of attenuator types and models uniquely designed for a multitude of applications.

In this course the student will learn fundamentals of attenuator design and selection, including the various types of attenuator styles and specific models as manufactured by AeroSonics. Models, styles, performance, specification and installation considerations related to sound attenuators, louvers and panels are covered in this course.

The course includes an introductory section on attenuator fundamentals, followed by material contained in the AeroSonics engineering binder* that is provided here in PDF format.
