Overview

This 3-hour audio online course covers valve types and selections. The main focus of the course is in-line process valves, such as gate valves, globe valves, ball valves and check valves. Additionally, some specialty type valves are discussed in detail, including pinch valves. There's even coverage of a valve that many engineers with years of operating experience have likely never heard of - the bayonet angle valve.

The course author, who has over 40 years of experience designing and troubleshooting piping systems, provides a wealth of information and "been there, done that" experience in valve selection. Whether you don't know a ball valve from a gate valve or even if you think you know valves, you'll gain practical knowledge from this course. Not only does the author discuss valves being used today in industry, he gives insight into how valve design has evolved since the early days.

This course is provided in two forms for your convenience. The course may be studied as a “podcast” or audio presentation. The included audio files can be downloaded to your iPod or other personal mp3 player or they can be streamed using your computer’s default audio player (such as Windows Media Player). A written transcription is also provided should you wish to read the material.

To receive PDH credit, the user must pass a multiple-choice quiz of 16 questions after listening to the audio files or reading the transcription of the course.
