VAV System Design

Course No. M-2054 Back to HVAC Courses
Credit: 2 PDH
Course Fee: $57.90

Steven G. Liescheidt, P.E., CSI-CCS, CCPR

Overview

Variable Air Volume (VAV) systems are a popular type of HVAC system in commercial buildings for both energy savings and comfort; however, there are multiple considerations that must be taken into account during design in order to realize these design objectives and avoid pitfalls.

In this course the student will learn some of the basic considerations that should be taken into account when considering using a VAV system in a building. The recommended measures incorporate findings from a recent study of built-up VAV systems conducted for the California Energy Commission.

The student is expected to read and review the material contained in the Design Brief – Advance Variable Air Volume (VAV) Systems, Energy Design Resources.

The student must take a multiple-choice quiz consisting of twenty (20) questions at the end of this course to obtain PDH credits.
