Overview
Despite advances that have greatly reduced the threat of petroleum releases from UST systems into the environment, some UST systems continue to experience releases. Inadequate operation and maintenance of sumps is one reason these systems continue to leak into the environment.
In this course, the student will learn about types of sumps, basic maintenance procedures for sumps and spill buckets, how to access sumps and spill buckets and what to do to ensure that the sumps and spill buckets are in good condition to prevent loss of containment.
The student is expected to read and review the material contained in the UST Systems: Inspecting and Maintaining Sumps and Spill Buckets as published by the US – Environmental Protection Agency
The student must take a multiple-choice quiz consisting of ten questions at the end of this course to obtain PDH credits.
