Below is a summary of the Board's continuing education requirements for engineers licensed in the state of Louisiana:
|Hours Required||30 hours biennially beginning with renewals June 30, 2010|
|Renewal Dates||March 31 and September 30 based on the year of initial licensure.|
|Course Approval||The Board does not pre-approve specific courses, but does pre-approve
course sponsors. Engineers are not required to earn hours from an approved
sponsor. However, courses provided by an approved sponsor are assured to be
accepted by the Board.

|Course Content||Courses shall have "subject matter which is technical in nature or
addresses business management practices, professional ethics, quality

|PDH Carryover||A maximum of 15 PDH may be carried forward into the next renewal period. However, in required categories such as ethics, life safety code, minimum standards, etc., the number of PDH carried over in the particular required category may not exceed the minimum PDH required in that particular category.|
