| Tennessee PEs are required to earn
24 PDH biennially. All of the required hours can be earned through
online courses. Note that Chapter 0120-5-.06(2)(c) of the Board's
rules was modified in 2004 to specifically allow credit for "Internet
courses."
While the state board does not mandate or
pre-approve specific courses or providers, they do require that continuing
education courses pertain to technical, ethical or managerial content that
are relevant to the practice of engineering A majority of the hours
earned must address health, safety, welfare, or technical competency.
In our course
online catalog, you will notice a large number of courses listed with
a notation of "HSW" which means the course
includes material pertaining to Health, Safety, and
Welfare. These HSW courses meet the
board's content requirements.
Additionally, PDHengineer.com provides a free online
ethics course, Professional
Ethics for Engineers, that can serve as part of your PDH
requirement. We provide this course free to you as a way to introduce
you to the services we offer. There's no obligation to buy other
