Subject Matter Expert Martin McMorrow, P.E., LEED™ Green Associate

 

Martin McMorrow, P.E., LEED™ Green Associate, is a practicing licensed Professional Engineer in NY with over 15 years of experience in the Environmental Health, Occupational Safety and Mechanical Engineering fields. He possesses a Masters Degree in “Environmental Heath and Occupational Safety” from Hunter College, NY and a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Polytechnic University, NY. In 2010, Mr. McMorrow was certified as a LEED Green Associate.

He is currently an Associate Mechanical Engineer working for the Suffolk County Department of Public Works (NY). He prepares or reviews civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, sanitary designs and specifications for county owned facilities; conducts testing, troubleshooting and balancing on HVAC and plumbing systems as required to meet codes; prepares budgets for capital programs, and manages overall finances for capital programs in the Facilities Engineering Division.

Before working for Suffolk County, he held the title of Enforcement Officer / Environmental Engineer with the United States EPA, Region 2, Air Compliance Branch where he enforced the Clean Air Act. He also spent several years working on various real estate related environmental issues for an Environmental Engineering firm in New York City as a Design Engineer

Mr. McMorrow serves the Nation as an Engineering Duty Officer (Lieutenant Commander, O-4) in the United States Navy Reserve. He supports the repair and maintenance of US Navy Ships and Submarines in both government and private shipyards. He is also the Commanding Officer of a Reserve Unit stationed in Schenectady, NY.
