Charles Costenbader, P.E., MBA

Charles Costenbader, P.E., MBA, is a Professional Engineer with 30 years’ experience in engineering, project management, industrial asset restructuring, construction loan oversight, and independent engineering services. He has successfully led the technical design approvals and underwriting for investments in power generation (fossil fuel, pumped storage hydroelectric and renewables), methanol refinery operations, power storage, underground gas storage, gathering systems, recycled paper manufacturing, coal gasification, coal/waste plastic to aromatics and pulverized coal injection for steel operations. He has also led the commissioning, debottlenecking, and troubleshooting of infrastructure assets and consequently has extensive lessons learned concerning proper facility design and safe operations.

Mr. Costenbader holds a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Lafayette College, an M.B.A. degree from the Graduate School of Business at Columbia University and a B.A. degree in German from Oregon State University. He has both New Jersey and Connecticut P.E. License certifications. He began his engineering career in 1982 in the Marine Terminal Engineering Department at Sea-Land Service, Inc. headquarters in Elizabeth, New Jersey. He worked over a decade in the Energy Project Finance group at GE Capital, several years on the natural gas and electricity commodity trading floor for Macquarie Bank, and has extensive experience in both public and private energy firms in roles such as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer.
