The rapid advancement of technology presents some unique challenges to engineers. Advances in areas like nanotechnology, artificial intelligence, information technology and biotechnology are creating ethical dilemmas because we don’t have a roadmap to deal with the issues. The changes are occurring so rapidly that we simply have not had the time to develop new regulations or even consider many of the ethical implications that go along with the advances in technology.

In this course, we’ll explore some of the ethical issues that have arisen and will continue to arise in the future because of rapid technological advances.

This is a video recording of a live seminar held on April 15, 2016 as a part of the 2016 Tulane Engineering Forum, and is offered exclusively by PDHengineer by special arrangement with engineering alumni of Tulane University and the Tulane School of Science and Engineering. This valuable information is presented by Terry Chambers, PhD, PE, Associate Dean of Engineering, University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
