South Carolina CPC or PDH for Professional Engineers
Continuing Professional Competency (CPC) Requirements
Continuing Education or PDH is known as CPC in South Carolina

Here is a summary of the engineering continuing education requirements mandated by the South Carolina Board of Engineers and Surveyors.

Subject Requirement
Hours Required 30 PDH biennially
Renewal Dates June 30 of even years for all engineers
Board Approval The Board does not pre-approve providers or specific courses. Each engineer must determine whether an activity meets the Board’s requirements.
Approved Content The Board provides no specific advice except that the course should “enhance and improve a licensee’s professional skills.”
Approved Activities Choice of activities is left to the judgment of the licensee. Continuing education that enhances the professional attributes of the licensee and is beneficial in an area of practice will be considered by the Board for those who are audited. Online courses are considered acceptable by the Board.
PDH Carryover A maximum of 15 PDH may be carried forward into the next renewal period.
Notes
  1. For dual licensees, the number of PDH remains 30 biennially; however, one-third of the required credits must pertain to each profession.
  2. PDH completion records must be maintained for a minimum of 5 years. PDHengineer helps you meet this requirement by providing you with the ability to instantly access and print a certificate upon successful completion of a course or webinar. Additionally, your certificates of completion are securely maintained by PDHengineer for a minimum of ten years and can be accessed online at any time through your login account.
