Price: $89.85 Purchase using Reward Tokens. Details
Overview
In Substations - Volume VI: Voltage Regulators and Capacitors, you'll learn ...
- The function of voltage regulators
- The difference between an induction regulator and a step-type regulator
- The components of a regulator control system
- Benefits of using shunt capacitor banks
- How to deal with transients caused by shunt capacitor bank energization and potential resonance conditions
Overview
This 3-hour course is the sixth in a series of courses on the design of electrical substations. The courses do not necessarily have to be taken in order and, for the most part, are stand-alone courses.
This course covers voltage regulators and capacitors as they are used in substations.
Specific Knowledge or Skill Obtained
This course teaches the following specific knowledge and skills:
- How voltage regulators are used in substations
- Different types of voltage regulators
- Different types of controls used with voltage regulators
- How shunt capacitors are used in substations
- The impact of resonant conditions
- Different types of capacitor bank configurations used
Certificate of Completion
You will be able to immediately print a certificate of completion after passing a multiple-choice quiz consisting of 20 questions. PDH credits are not awarded until the course is completed and quiz is passed.
