Price: $59.90 Purchase using Reward Tokens. Details
Overview
In Water Pollution and Its Control, you'll learn ...
- The effect of oxygen-demanding wastes on rivers
- How biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) is modeled
- The three interrelated programs under the RCRA
- How to assess the capability of a stream to absorb a waste load
- The various methods for control of water pollution
Overview
In this course we will define TMDL, BOD, COD, and DO and explain the effect of oxygen demanding wastes in water pollution. We will learn how to determine BOD5 in the laboratory, BOD reaction rate, k with graphical method. We will also derive the BOD model and DO sag curve equations using first-order kinetics and solve several example problems.
Specific Knowledge or Skill Obtained
This course teaches the following specific knowledge and skills:
- Identity of water pollutants and their sources
- Definition of TMDL, BOD, & COD
- How to model BOD and calculate BOD5 and BOD
- How to determine BOD rate constants graphically
- How to develop the DO Sag Curve (Model)
- The effects of nutrients on water quality in rivers
Certificate of Completion
You will be able to immediately print a certificate of completion after passing a multiple-choice quiz consisting of 20 questions. PDH credits are not awarded until the course is completed and quiz is passed.
