Overview

In Design for Fatigue Analysis, you'll learn ...

  • How to design materials for cyclic loading conditions
  • How to avoid fatigue failure and accomplish infinite fatigue life
  • Load resistance design method

Overview

A PDHengineer webinar is just like being there.

4 Easy Steps to Complete a PDHengineer webinar

In this webinar, you will learn the process of designing materials for cyclic loading. We will cover the application of basic material properties from standard fatigue to guide your designs, specifically when designing against fatigue failure and for infinite fatigue life. Additionally, you will learn how to take the laboratory results and adjust them for real-world operating conditions.

You will learn how to apply the load resistance approach to the problem of fatigue by using the concept of Marin factors, and how they account for their impact on fatigue resistance, including surface finish, stress distribution, size effects, temperature, reliability, corrosion, and residual stresses.

The geometric effect of stress concentration factors on the stress distribution in real-world components will be reviewed, as well as the management of multi-axial stresses in cycling loading.

Next, the complexity of loading history will be outlined with focus given to the effect of mean stress. Also, the evaluation of random loading using environmental loads such as wind, sea waves, and ocean currents will be shown. Finally, we will review the evaluation of high-frequency vibrations.
