Steve Ackerlund, PhD

Steve Ackerlund, PhD, provides technical, procedural, and project management expertise for industry, agency, and citizen clients. Steve has over 25 years of experience in risk assessment, risk communication, public participation, and risk management – addressing risk as both a physical and social scientist. Through his education and project experience, Steve has acquired a deep and interdisciplinary understanding of risk and risk perception from a quantitative and qualitative perspective. He has served on a wide range of infrastructure, health, safety, and environmental projects and policy issues nationally and internationally. He has extensive experience in resolving complex and controversial problems in ways that effectively engage or otherwise respond to multi-stakeholder perspectives and concerns.
