Subject Matter Expert: Edward J. Brown, P.E.
Edward J. Brown, P.E., received a BS in Civil Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University in 1981. He has 26 years of experience in consulting engineering at large nationally recognized firms as well as smaller regional firms. He has been active in obtaining continuing education.
Mr. Brown has been involved in the design, construction, and operation of numerous water and wastewater treatment plants. His area of expertise is in the selection, specification, and design of mechanical equipment systems, chemical feed systems, and pumping and piping systems. This experience has included the evaluation of existing facilities and the design of upgrade projects as well as new construction.
He has also gained considerable experience during the construction of projects, resolving unforeseen conditions and coordinating changes to the work. Recently he has been involved in several waste water treatment plant upgrades in response to new regulations requiring advanced treatment for nutrient removal.
