Virginia has recently instituted continuing education requirements for
Professional Engineers. Engineers who renew or reinstate their licenses after
March 31, 2010 will be required to meet the new PDH requirements.
The law provides than PEs must complete 16 PDH in the two years immediately preceding their license renewal. PDHengineer's online courses and webinars are both acceptable for Virginia continuing education.
The Board has set forth specific requirements for continuing education activity. PDHengineer's courses and webinars meet these requirements and are guaranteed to be accepted by the Board. State regulations say that PDH activity must meet the following criteria:

Below is a summary of the Board's continuing education requirements for engineers licensed in the state of Virginia:

| Hours Required | 16 PDH biennially |
| Renewal Dates | Licenses renew on the last day of the month two years from the date of issue. Licensees who renew or reinstate a PE license after March 31, 2010 must meet the new PDH requirement. |
| Course Approval | The Board does not pre-approve providers or specific courses. Each engineer must determine whether an activity meets the Board's requirements, however guidelines have been provided as shown above. |
| Course Content | Courses must be related to the engineer's practice and should improve or expand the skills of the engineer. The Board will also accept courses in the areas of business practices, such as project management, risk management, or ethics. |
| Online Courses | Accepted. There is no limit on the number of hours that can be earned through online continuing education. |
| PDH Carryover | No hours may be carried forward into the next renewal period |
