Distributed Energy Resources Grid Impact - Solar (Video On Demand)
Credit: 2 PDH
Subject Matter Expert: Ahmed Mousa, PhD
In Distributed Energy Resources Grid Impact - Solar (Video On Demand), you'll learn ...
- Understand power factor mitigation methods
- Become familiar with distributed energy resources
- Understand relays and various distribution systems
Overview
Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) are the next big thing, you can simply check any news any day and you will either read about new ways to increase the efficiency of solar, utilities’ role in adopting DERs and the future of going 100% renewable.
Many are employed in the renewable field, directly or indirectly, whether promoting/selling DERs or finding ways to mitigate their impact on the electric system. In this course, you will learn about the electric system, from generation to distribution, various DERs, technical impact on generation, transmission and distribution systems, biggest of which is the voltage impact on the distribution & transmission system and means to mitigate those issues. This course is a recording of a live webinar.
Specific Knowledge or Skill Obtained
This course teaches the following specific knowledge and skills:
- Be familiar with power load flow
- Understand power factor mitigation methods
- Become familiar with distributed energy resources
- Understand relays and various distribution systems
Video on Demand
This course is a recorded version of a live lecture and will be streamed directly to your computer's media player. Our format is generally compatible with media players included with all computers and mobile devices. After watching the video presentation, you will return to your account to take the online quiz. While this is a recording of a live presentation, please note that this recording will not qualify as a "live" or "interactive" continuing education activity in those jurisdictions where it is required.
Certificate of Completion
You will be able to immediately print a certificate of completion after passing a multiple-choice quiz consisting of 10 questions. PDH credits are not awarded until the course is completed and quiz is passed.
