Overview
This course is specifically designed for Ohio-licensed engineers to qualify as a "timed and monitored" online course. The course contains an automatic timer that prevents the user from accessing the quiz and earning a certificate of completion until the minimum amount of study time has been met. This achieves the Ohio Board's intent that an online course should be "paced" by the provider. For more information, please see the Ohio state requirements. This course may also be accepted in other states (see the "Board Acceptance" tab above).

In Decarbonization Strategies for Industrials , you'll learn ...

  • The different emission scopes that must be included in a de-carbonization strategy.
  • How energy consumption data is vital to understanding and calculating emissions, and importance of ranking emissions from different facility processes and different facilities.
  • The different tactics and strategies to employ for industrial de-carbonization, along with ideas of proven and applicable energy projects.
  • The Marginal Abatement Cost Curve to rank de-carbonization projects.

Duration: 57 minutes

This course includes a data and fact-based overview of de-carbonization tactics and strategies to reduce industrial emissions. The different scopes of emissions are discussed, along with practical ideas to assist operators trying to meet their emission targets.A list of de-carbonization projects is discussed to help generate ideas for attendees' companies. Attendees will learn more about the drivers of change to de-carbonization, how the current energy mix is changing, along with pertinent questions that companies should b easking about their energy consumption and emission.

It is led by an expert with over 40 years technical, strategic, and financial experience in the energy sector, with international energy and de-carbonization experience with multi-national companies, Newmont Corporation, Rio Tinto, and ExxonMobil.

This video is a recording of a live webinar training session. As a recording of a live event, you will hear the discussion that occurred between the instructor and those who attended this webinar.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the emission scopes that must be included in a decarbonization strategy.
  • Explain how energy-consumption data supports emissions calculations and the ranking of emissions from facility processes and facilities.
  • Describe tactics and strategies for industrial decarbonization, including proven and applicable energy projects.
  • Apply the marginal abatement cost curve to rank decarbonization projects.

PDH Credits

Webinars earn PDH credits for engineers in all jurisdictions, unless otherwise stated in the literature for a specific webinar, and are accepted as "live" courses by engineering boards with a requirement for "live" training.
