Overview
To meet the Ohio Board's intent that online courses be "paced" by the provider, a timer will be used to record your study time. You will be unable to access the quiz until the required study time of 50 minutes has been met.

When protecting storage, the first step is the most important – classifying the storage. This course focuses on this critical first step by presenting NFPA-13 definitions of types of storage and packaging. The information contained in the course will be help designers and engineers gain knowledge to assist in classifying storage per the requirements of the National Fire Protection Association, Standard No. 13, Installation of Sprinkler Systems.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Identify the classes of commodities addressed by NFPA 13.
- Define miscellaneous storage as it applies to NFPA 13.
- Describe the information that an owner is responsible for providing to a sprinkler system installer.
- Explain why the percentage of plastic material in a mixed commodity is important for classification.
