1 PDH Sexual Harassment Prevention Training required for license renewal
Illinos legislators have passed Public Act 100-0762 regarding Sexual Harassment Prevention Training for all professions regulated by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR). IDFPR regulates both Professional Engineers and Structural Engineers licensed in Illinois.
For license renewals occurring on or after January 1, 2020, the required continuing education hours shall include at least one hour of sexual harassment prevention training. This will apply to both Structural Engineers and Professional Engineers as well as many other regulated professions.
Design Times, IDFPR’s newsletter for Architects, Land Surveyors, Professional and Structural Engineers, states, “To clarify the requirement: All licensees must take the required class from a provider or sponsor that is acceptable under the Act and Rules for the respective profession.” Our correspondence with the board confirms that PDHengineer is considered eligible to offer the course.
