Jonathan Russell, BEng (Hons)

Jon Russell, BEng (Hons), began work as a apprentice for shipping company Maersk in a program that allowed him to work aboard large commercial container ships interspersed with periods spent at his college studies for an engineering degree. Upon completing the degree program, he remained with Maersk as an engineer for a total of ten years.

Back on land, he accepted a position as a boiler and machinery engineering consultant for a large insurance company conducting engineering risk assessments at various heavy industrial plants around the world. His assignments included mines, power stations, rolling mills, foundries, semiconductor plants, recycling plants among others.

Currently, Mr. Russell owns his own engineering training company, saVRee. His courses have been used by more than 9,000 engineers in over 130 countries.

Jon has a higher national diploma (HND) in Marine Engineering from South Tyneside Maritime College and a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) with a specialization in fracture mechanics from Open University, both located in the UK.
