Overview
The Indiana State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers requires for every biennial renewal cycle that engineers earn 1 PDH studying engineering ethics and 1 PDH in the study of the Indiana Laws and Rules for Engineers. This course is specifically designed to satisfy the Laws and Rules portion.
The laws and rules for the practice of engineering in the state of Indiana are contained within:
- Indiana Code Title 25. Professions and Occupations, Article 31. Professional Engineers, and
- Indiana Administrative Code Title 864
In this course, we will review Indiana Administrative Code Title 864.
Specific Knowledge or Skill Obtained
This course teaches the following specific knowledge and skills:
- Current information on the required engineering seal and its proper use
- Rules for a limited liability company doing business in Indiana that wishes to practice or offer to practice engineering
- Grounds for disciplinary actions against a professional engineer
- Continuing education hours required
- Credit for distance learning, teaching, college courses and other qualifying activities
- Approval of continuing education programs
- Continuing education reporting requirements
- Request for a waiver of the continuing education requirement
